Global Planning

The Workshop program is comprehensive. It includes:

• Scientific plenary sessions given by renowned speakers (see here for more details)
  
  • Professor Abbas Rajabifard from the University of Melbourne will give a talk on
    • Digital Transformation-a new Era: Environmental Modelling by Digital Twins
  • Professor Willem Vervoort from the University of Sydney will deliver a keynote speech on how
    • Providing research to manage and guide landscape-scale sustainability 
• Industrial keynotes bringing together various industrialists
  
• Research sessions on work carried out within TC 8.3 by senior researchers and/or doctoral students.

Within this global framework and following discussions with Carlos Pereira, IFAC Vice-President for Technical Activities and Mary Doyle Kent, head of the newly created Diversity and Inclusion Committee (Mary has accepted to be on the organizing committee), we decided to make this event a pilot case for addressing diversity issues and in particular the role and opportunities given to women researchers. In addition to the gender aspects in the different committees (IPC, organizing committees, keynote speeches or presentations in sessions), activities will be organized on the theme of the place of gender in research.
